Zulmira Oliveira brings more than two decades of workers’ compensation litigation experience to Bedoya & Hussain. Her background spans private practice and in-house insurance defense, with extensive experience guiding matters from initial claim assessment through litigation, settlement, and appellate proceedings. Zulmira’s work has focused on defending workers’ compensation claims, evaluating compensability and exposure, and developing litigation strategies informed by the legal, medical, and financial considerations of each case. She has worked closely with clients, claims professionals, and medical providers to assess evidence, manage litigation budgets, and pursue appropriate resolutions.  

Before joining Bedoya & Hussain, Zulmira was a partner at HP Law, LLC, where she managed the firm’s entire New Jersey portfolio. She led the firm’s New Jersey practice, expanded its business in the state, and provided strategic oversight of its New Jersey matters.  

Zulmira previously served as staff counsel for Zurich North America through the Law Offices of Cascio & Capotorto, where she received the Zurich Bronze Award for sustained exceptional performance. In that role, she also served as a legal liaison between claims professionals and major insured accounts. 

Zulmira earned her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a Newark Scholar and Centennial Scholar. She graduated summa cum laude from Saint Peter’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.
